This is an interesting question - and I'm not sure of the answer. But here is what i think based on what I've read .... In order to offset your carbon you have to first calculate it which must be a good thing. It makes you aware of your carbon footprint so that you can then start thinking about how to avoid producing so much carbon and also reducing it using effiecency methods. Then maybe try and offset the things you can't reduce. I think it's important to use a quaility assured carbon offset.
