Hello, of course I can give you some advice. I wouldn't worry to much about studying film before hand at a low level, if you're planning to head to Uni and do a degree along these lines, they tend to be more interested in sujects such as maths and sciences. Having a general idea of the industry is good, but again, haveing an A'level and degree in media/film myself, I still didn't learn everything I needed to get a job, you get this while you're in the industry. If it's production your interested in, the most valuable thing you can do is get as much experience as possible in the field, being work experinces or runners jobs, the earlier you start the better. This is something I learned the hard way. These a great website called Mandy.com, its a media job website, but these always loads of people asking for volunteers to help on small shoots, this is great for you CV and when you try to get your first job.
