Green Talent is an initiative targeted at young people, which aims to increase their knowledge about our dependence on nature and also show how businesses are going to be adapting as we move towards a low-carbon economy.
The Eden Project, RSPB and Kew created this online community and piloted a range of environmental experiences in some of the most innovative learning centres in the country.
Whether you're a teacher, lecturer, head of department or professor, join the forum, get involved and earn points in the same way as your students. This is a great opportunity for institutes and people with 'real-life experience' to help younger generations gain a bright future by sharing skills and expertise.
You can also pose questions and raise topics with younger audiences who often have new ways to tackle old problems. A great way to harness their skills, tap into youth insight and test out new approaches in a completely open way. It will also promote the work of your company to new audiences.
As well as career advice, the Green Talent scheme supportsgeography, ICT, PSHE, citizenship and STEM. It contributes towards the markers of the Every Child Matters agenda. The programme has been designed to support Secondary Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS). Green Talent also complements study at a Tertiary level, including apprenticeships.
'The programme is a very vital element of learning for all young people and this programme should be delivered to all schools.' Lee Clegg, The Chafford School.
'Sustainability is the watch-word for our future; young people need to be naturally sustainable. Green Talent enables them to be so.' Dave Walkden, Duchy College, Cornwall.
Each Green Talent Environmental Centre has developed activities making use of their available resources, which target the programme to specific groups. Each centre will be happy to work with you to discuss our programmes or look at developing a programme that's just right for you.
